Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.

We’re honored to share the story of Mark Schultz, a selfless patriot who quietly serves his family, community, and fellow veterans with boundless dedication.

Story submitted by Lynn Schultz “He never looks for any praise or recognition for what he does for our family or the community. Each year for Memorial & Veterans Day he & his grandson make arrive at the local cemetery to place flags for our fallen soldiers. He collects tattered US Flags at our Rod & Gun Club so they are disposed of properly. He has been a pillar of wisdom for my daughter who’s currently in the US Navy. He’s the first one to show up & help anyone & always the last to leave. But most importantly he’s one of the proudest US veterans. His wardrobe consists of military related t-shirts honor our past present & future military. In July of this year he was chosen to participate in our local Honor Flight to DC. And shortly after that trip if a lifetime he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stomach cancer with terminal diagnosis. However yiu would never know. He continues to help whenever he can & he’s already recruited more of us to join him on Veterans to honor our fallen. I would be so humbled & forever grateful if he was able to be recognized & awarded one of your beautiful flags-the flag this man raises & lowers each day at his home & at our club. Please consider Mark Schultz. And thank you for your time & consideration."

Thank you, Mark, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
