Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of William Key, a distinguished Navy veteran whose selfless dedication spanned over 20 years of service to our country.
Story submitted by Justin Key “I am proud to recommend my father, who selflessly dedicated over 20 years to serving in the United States Navy. Leaving his home in Orange, Texas shortly after high school, he joined the Silent Service and embarked on a journey that would take him around the world, gaining invaluable experience along the way. His service provided him with a wealth of life lessons that he has passed down to his five children. His distinguished career concluded at Texas A&M, where he served as an instructor of naval science, shaping future leaders. He retired honorably from the Navy in 1997, leaving a lasting legacy of commitment and service. As a show of continued commitment to his country, my father displays an American flag on the front of his home daily. That flag is flown next to a United States Marine Corps flag, in honor of my brother who currently serves as an officer in the USMC."
Thank you, William, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
