Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.

We’re honored to share the story of Robert "Bobo" Stanwood, a dedicated Army Ranger and Delta Force operative who served his country with unwavering bravery for 23 years.

Story submitted by Linda Stanwood “Bob " Bobo" Stanwood was in the Army for 23 years, following in the footsteps of his father and then his daughter following in his footsteps becoming a Marine. Bob was a Ranger in the 275. He was in the Delta Force the last 12 to 13 years of his career. In the beginning of his Delta years, he had a training exercise injury where he fell 30 feet with all his gear on. The fall left him with compression fractures in his back and severe bilateral ankle fractures. After having 18 surgeries on his left ankle and mobility issues, Bob had to have a left leg amputation and his right ankle fused. Bob was a fighter and just 5 months after having his leg amputated on St.Patrick's Day of 2005 he was " back fighting bad guys" as he tells it. He did multiple trips to Iraq as a amputee. He would do it all again if he could. He loved his job and he loves this country more than anyone I have ever met. I grew up in a military family and I am proud to have the title as a military wife and military mom. Bob deserves a recognition and flag from your amazing company more than anyone I know! Thank you"

Thank you, Robert, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
