We are honored to share the story of Airman First Class Merlyn Gale Midyett, a man whose bravery and quick thinking helped save lives during his service.
Story submitted by Stephanie Midyett “My father Merlyn Gale Midyett was stationed at Udorn Thai Air Force Base 11/10/1966 - 9/1/1967.Airman First Class, Intercept Control Technician.My father played an important role in saving the lives. There was a plane about to go down do to running out of fuel.My dad assisted the Primary Control Officer with immediate reaction to dangerous situation, by quickly guiding the plane going down to hookup to the fuel plane and prevented major catastrophic crash.My dad was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal."
