Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of Larry Brown, a true American hero who exemplified the highest values of dedication, equality, and unwavering service.
Story submitted by Tiffany Brown: "My father joined the army in 1966. He spent 28 1/2 years in the army starting as a private and retiring as a CW-4. He spent 3 years in Vietnam. My father was one of a kind concerning soldiers and way ahead in his day for soldiers of that era. He admired his female soldiers as much as the males. In fact, he would defend the females during times of stress or struggle for them being in an environment comprised mostly of men. He stood up for the females when they would be in any way harassed by fellow male soldiers. He cared for all of his soldiers equally. He taught college in the latter part of his career even going to the point of tutoring them outside of class to aide in their successes. My father never stood down to a task that the army asked of him. He was exemplary as a soldier, as a father and as a citizen of this wonderful country. He gave all to defend the rights and privileges we as Americans enjoy to this day."
Thank you, Larry, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
