Throughout our Flags for Heroes campaign, we've had the privilege of learning about the incredible veterans who have served our country with courage and dedication. These stories, filled with sacrifice and resilience, serve as a powerful reminder of the true meaning of patriotism.
We’re honored to share the story of Charles Breedlove, a dedicated hero who served his country for an incredible 38 years, 3 months, and 23 days.
Story submitted by Christine Breedlove-Schmitz: "My father is my hero, mentor, guide, caregiver, protector, one who has been with me through all thicks and thins of life even from afar. He taught me not to give in to fear and to face every adversity with a clean and composed mind. My father is a wonderful human being and a great dad. He made me strive to become a better person each day and he ensured that I did not fall prey to bad intentions. In between deployments, he taught me how to be self-sufficient and strong so that I would never "need" a man but find an equal. He spent 38 years, 3 months, and 23 days serving his country and I cannot think of anyone more deserving. He's not a fan of pictures and I have a few with his grands and great-grands, but decided his AF Photo from his retirement announcement in 2008 would be nice."
Thank you, Charles, for your honorable service, sacrifice, and dedication.
